New Chamber Meet-Up Group for Nonprofit Professionals Launches Dec. 3

The Cuyahoga East Chamber of Commerce is excited to launch a new Nonprofit Professionals Meet-Up Group, created to connect, support, and inspire those working in the nonprofit world.
The group was founded by Sheila Gibbons, CEO and founder of The 501Pros, a consulting and fractional staffing business serving nonprofits. Sheila, who also serves on the Chamber’s Board of Directors, brings more than 20 years of experience in the nonprofit space.
“Nonprofit professionals often wear many hats in order to operate on a tight budget,” Sheila said. “We’re creating a space for sharing and learning—where members can get practical information, ideas, and tools they can use right away.”
A Place for Connection and Growth
The group is open to anyone involved in the nonprofit sector — including leaders, board members, and volunteers — and aims to offer a mix of networking, learning, and problem-solving.
Each session will give attendees actionable takeaways they can use to improve their organizations. The first session, “Working on Your Priorities,” will explore how to move from being busy to being effective by aligning daily work with mission, strategy, and outcomes.
Future sessions will cover topics such as:
- Compliance and governance
- Leadership development
- Board and volunteer engagement
- Aligning strategy with mission
The group plans to meet 4–6 times per year, with occasional workshops based on member interest.
“I hope that members leave each session inspired and energized,” Sheila added.
Participation in the Nonprofit Professionals Meet-Up is free for all Chamber members.
