How Is Your Company Giving Back this Giving Tuesday?
Giving Tuesday is coming up; how is your company giving back to the community? According to nationaltoday.com, “Every year, on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving, people take the time to kick off the holiday season by giving back to their community. Whether it is donating money to a charitable cause or volunteering, Giving Tuesday is a day set to benefit the community.” Keep reading to get five ideas on celebrating Giving Tuesday in your company this year!
Five Ways to Celebrate Giving Tuesday in Your Company:
Match Donations:
Encourage your employees and customers to donate to a charity and commit to matching their donations to a certain amount. Donations double the impact of each donation and encourage more participation.
Volunteer as a Team:
Organize a volunteer day for your employees at a local charity or community project. Volunteering can be an excellent team-building exercise and a meaningful way to give back to the community.
Offer Services or Products:
If your business provides services or products that could benefit nonprofits or community organizations, consider offering these for free or at a significant discount on Giving Tuesday.
Host a Fundraiser or Event:
Plan a fundraising event or an in-store promotion where a portion of the day’s sales is donated to a chosen charity. Hosting an event can drive business while supporting a good cause.
Spread the Word:
Use your business’s platform—social media, email newsletters, or your website—to raise awareness about Giving Tuesday and the causes you care about. Sharing stories about how your business and employees are participating can inspire others to take action as well.
By choosing one or more of these approaches, your business can significantly impact this Giving Tuesday, fostering a culture of generosity and community engagement.
