International Volunteer Day is coming up! Thank you to all of our CuyEast Food Bank Volunteers!
In celebration of International Volunteer Day, the CuyEast Chamber of Commerce wants to thank all of our Food Bank Volunteers this year!
According to UnitedNations.com, “Mandated by the UN General Assembly, the International Volunteer Day is held each year on 5 December. It is viewed as a unique chance for volunteers and organizations to celebrate their efforts, to share their values, and to promote their work among their communities, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), United Nations agencies, government authorities and the private sector.”
Here are four ways you can give back for International Volunteer Day this year:
Volunteering at Local Organizations: Look for local charities, shelters, schools, or community centers that need help. This could involve activities like tutoring, helping at a food bank, or assisting in organizing community events.
Environmental Conservation Efforts: Participate in environmental initiatives like community clean-ups, tree planting, or conservation projects. These activities not only help the environment but also raise awareness about sustainability.
Skill-Based Volunteering: Offer your professional skills pro bono to nonprofits or community projects. This could include things like legal advice, marketing, web design, or medical services.
Virtual Volunteering: If you’re unable to participate in person, consider virtual volunteering. Many organizations look for people who can provide online support, such as managing social media accounts, translating documents, or tutoring students online.
Thank you to Tendon Manufacturing, W.F. Hann & Sons Heating & Cooling, and Cleveland Cord Blood for all of the hard work you’ve done with the CuyEast Chamber this year!
