Team NEO: Driving Growth in Northeast Ohio
At the Maple Heights Small Business Forum on September 23, Keri Zipay, Senior Director of Business Development at Team NEO, explained how the organization is helping to make Northeast Ohio a top destination for business growth.
Team NEO is one of seven regional partners of JobsOhio, the state’s private nonprofit economic development corporation. Together, they work to attract new companies to Ohio while supporting the ones already here. Their focus spans ten key industry sectors — including health care, technology, aerospace, automotive, and energy — all critical to the state’s GDP.
Based in downtown Cleveland, Team NEO’s 30+ staff members connect businesses to resources such as research on competitive wages, marketing support to promote Northeast Ohio, and access to financial incentive programs through JobsOhio, including grants, low-interest loans, tax rebates, and workforce training funds.
Keri also shared how her team works globally to bring companies to Northeast Ohio, with her own focus on aerospace and defense — pitching the region to leading organizations like SpaceX, Blue Origin, and Sierra Nevada.
The Panel included:
- Clark Bihag, Deputy District Director, Ohio District Office, U.S. Small Business Administration, Moderator
- Steve Petti, Executive Director, Cuyahoga East Chamber of Commerce
- Keri Zipay: Senior Director, Business Development, Team NEO
- Kristin Beynon: Director of Client Engagement for MAGNET
- Jo Madison, MSM, CBA, SBDC Director, Urban League of Greater Cleveland
